Hi! I’m Felice Caroline Halim, in short just Felice will do! I’m a young aspiring designer from Indonesia, currently I’m a third-year degree student studying Fashion Design based in Raffles Design Singapore.  I’m still young and relatively new in the industry. But as I learn more, my passion towards this field has grown immensely and this leads me to being more curious and adventurous in terms of design thinking and experimenting. Through-out the journey, I’ve grown to learn a lot about myself, personally and professionally. Slowly but surely, I am growing.

This webpage consists of a few projects I’ve worked on, and I hope through here you could understand me better. But before that, let me tell you a little bit of myself as a designer.

Fashion to me is a form of art. An expression, an identity, a personality. It’s not about wearing cool beautiful garments, rather it’s about the story that lies behind it. Like an artform, it comes with a story. Whether it’s something that we see, touch and feel, it’s the whole process of telling a story through human sensibility.

I believe being a fashion designer is not simply making garments. Our job is to “create” garments. There’s a difference between making and creating, which for us designers is a very important concept to understand. Anyone can sew a shirt, pants, or a dress. But not anyone can tell stories through them.

I know for a fact, I’m not the type of designer who “loves” spending hours to sew up a garment (not that I hate it). I love spending my time observing, researching, understanding, analyzing and experimenting. By learning about the world and the people. And that is my kind of innovative, creative design.

We don’t need another piece of shirt or pair of pants that would end up dusting in the closet. What we need are solutions through design. The world is vast and there are endless possibilities through designing and innovating fashion. What my job is, to search solutions to create more meaningful, functional designs that will improve or at least have an impact in people’s lives somehow or rather.

I am grateful for the journey that has led me this far and I believe in the process of growth. As much as I grow personally, it’ll reflect on my design thinking professionally too. I look forward to the journey ahead of me and for more projects to come. I can’t wait to explore more innovations to contribute to society and industry!
